Over the last 20 years of writing and editing I’ve developed a few areas of expertise -- subjects about which I’m not only passionate, but I know a lot. Health and the economics of health care. Business, especially entrepreneurship and socially responsible companies. The environment. Personal finance. Nonprofit management, capacity building and social capital.

My work has appeared in more than 100 media outlets, including Audubon, The Boston Globe, Business Week, CNNMoney.com, The Christian Science Monitor, National Parks, Natural Health, National Public Radio, New Hampshire Public Radio, New Hampshire Public Television, and U.S. News & World Report. I’m a former editor at Inc. Magazine. I report on health and science for New Hampshire Public Radio and freelance about all the topics above, and more.

As a veteran journalist, I find the sources who matter -- fast. I meet deadlines and produce stories that move readers and compel them to keep listening and reading. And, as a former magazine editor, I know how to keep editors happy.

In addition to reporting, writing, and editing for traditional media, I lead editorial projects and consult on Web content for media outlets, businesses and nonprofits. And, with my “No Pain, All Gain” writing workshops I can teach you or your staff how to write creatively, productively, and painlessly.

Welcome. And thanks for looking.

Writer. Editor. Teacher.
